after getting an appointment with Monika Meier-Galliker
you will drive aproximaely one hour from Durango or 50 min. from Pagosa Springs

The Ranch is on: 30420 County Road 500, witch is 30 miles south of Pagosa Springs
(between mile marker 30 and 31)
witch is on the Scienic Byway, 12 miles from HWY 151 and 4 miles from Pagosa Junction,
that means it is between Arboles and Pagosa Junction,
next to the junctin of C.R.500 and C.R.557
Directions to drive from Durango: drive to Ignacio, go on HWY151 and then passing Arboles, keep driving on HWY 151 N, cross the Piedra River, then ca. 1/2 mile on right side enter into CR.500 towards Pagosa Junction into Sienic Byway. After 12 miles there is a junction with CR.557, this is where my place is. The Ranch entrance is right after this intersection on your right hand, it is a green gate and the white Hestar Ranch sign with 2 black horses on it. There are 3 old huuuge cottonwood trees at the Intersection and by the entrance. Please keep gate closed. Gate is not looked if you tell me when you arrive. You will see white electric fencing along the driveway towards the barn and house.
From Pagosa Springs: go on HWY 160 towards Durango, after ca. 15 miles go on C.R.700  also called Cat Creek Road, to your left. The drive is about 15 miles to Pagosa Junction (little ghost town with railroad), right before you get there is a devide of the road. Go to the right onto CR.500 towards Arboles, drive about 4-5 miles trough several windings until you meet CR.557 to your left, right bevore that intersection, on your left hand is the entrance, and you see huuuge cotton wood trees on your left. There is a green gate and the white sign with Hestar Ranch and 2 black horses on it, and a sign for Massage on the side. Please keep gate closed.

Bad Weather Rute or at Night...or in winter with snow on road...or wet with mud!
From HWY 160 (between Durango,Bayfield and Pagosa Springs) drive onto HWY 151 south for 17 miles, pass CHIMNEY ROCK MONUMENT, keep driving south towards Arboles until you see C.R.500 on your left, this is before you cross the Piedra River! The Road is also called "Scenic Byway, Tracks across Borders", and there is a sign towards Pagosa Junction. After entering C.R.500, check your milage in order to find it, it is 12 miles to my Ranch after you go on the dirt road. There are 2 huge Cottonwood trees that have their branches over the C.R.500 where you drive underneeth, this is the sign that you are here... The ranch entrance is after the intersection with C.R.557 on the right, a green gate with a big white ranch sign on it. After that the road curves and goes uphill steep...that is when you already passed my entrance!
It is on the river in the flat before it climbes the hill, very close to the intersection with C.R.557
Driving the Scienic Byway from Dulce NM: it is about 27 miles dirt road, to Pagosa Junction and then to here another 4-5 miles.
see map below... This is only a good weather route, this road is very bad and has part time no gravel at all on it!
Here is the Scienic Byway Map from this area.
